Echoing Memories

In Elegy of my Memory

By K.B. Silver Published about 5 hours ago 1 min read
The flautist by Remedios Varo from Wikiart.org

A hollow monument

Constructed in

Honor of my memory

The only evidence

I forgot

Is carefully archived

Forever locked away

𖠰 ↟ 𓉱 ↟ 𖠰

Hand-built in the

Once lush grove of

Now deceased

Rotting mango trees

Slowly poisoned from the root

Tears aren't enough to

Sustain life

Let along encourage growth

𖠰 ↟ 𓉱 ↟ 𖠰

A stone spire erected of

Massive marble puzzle pieces

Set into the surface of the

Groaning earth

Interlocking

Piercing the atmosphere

Peak peering down from the

Wheezing clouds above

𖠰 ↟ 𓉱 ↟ 𖠰

Moments and thoughts acceptable

Mill about the expansive entrance

The click of stiletto heels

Echoing

Ǝɔɥoᴉuƃ

The higher you ascend

The more horror and depravity

Densely packed

Labeled and stacked

𖠰 ↟ 𓉱 ↟ 𖠰

These files aren’t arranged alphabetically

Instead, they’re filed

According to level of terror and threat

From the outside

This is just another

Marble edifice

A mausoleum, not even

I enter or leave

Where bats nest and feed

In its overgrown eaves

A lot of memories to think about, and I liked the inverse echoing
