Freedom or Stability

What’s best for the kids

By Jesse LeePublished about 7 hours ago 1 min read

Freedom or stability,

Leave this, or shirk responsibility?

Why does it feel right when it feels so wrong

To stay and fight, just to suffer long?

Why do I give all I have

When you won’t even meet me at half?

How do I protect them

While you use them as a weapon?

Are two unhappy parents better,

If we can’t agree in the slightest bad weather?

And every healthy restriction

Is met with disproportionate friction?

I am no longer your husband, but still their father,

Yet their well-being is not your bother.

Your feelings will forever reign,

And they will suffer for your disdain.

Why can’t we get on the same page,

And for their sake, set aside your rage?

Make peace and let them grow—

Instead, hate is all you ever show.

My heart aches for those babies. I grew up in a broken home and I'm still picking up the pieces. I hope she tries to work with you, especially for their sake. Sending love.
