How's the job search going? It's going.

Have I been interviewing? No.

Have I been applying? Yes. 800+ submissions thus far.

Am I tailoring resumes for the jobs I want? I have lost count of how many resume versions I have created.

What role am I applying for? Who knows anymore.

Have I talked to Carl? Yeah, I've talked to Carl.

Have I talked to Jenny? Yep, her too.

Have I thought of working at Trader Joe's? Yes, right before I drive off a bridge.

You're right, I shouldn't be too proud. Who cares about my dumb career anyway.

They have great benefits you say? Wow. Stupid me thinking college and a career were the way to go.

For Fun

That sounds incredibly frustrating, and it’s understandable to feel worn down after putting in that much effort. Sending hundreds of applications and tailoring resumes takes real persistence, even if it doesn’t feel like progress right now. Your education and career goals aren’t “dumb” the job market can just be brutal and unpredictable. Hopefully something will click soon, and all that work will start to pay off. In the meantime, try not to be too hard on yourself.
