Observations On A Tree
An Espinela inspired by "The Tree Toad", 1919, illustration by George Carlson for the Vocal "Say It Plainly" Challenge

Introduction
This is the description from the Enchanted Booklet, but I cannot see the toad, so I thought I would write an espinela about what I see.
From John Martinβs Big Book No. 3
This illustration accompanies the poem The Tree Toad, describing a quiet night in the forest where all creatures sleep, except for a small tree toad singing from the branches of an old tree.
The music is "Toad" by Cream

In That Dark Trunk It's Blackness I See
I See A Dark Boat On The Water
The Tree Toad For Me Does Not Appear

To See The Creature, I'm Not Allowed
