you smile at me

your tongue in cheek

a kind

distorted simile

misguiding everything I see

into this

thing

you want to be

and I comply

you knew I would

without effort

rigid and firm

my reply

curt

my feelings numb

await the

hurt

that is to come

and you deliver

your blow

precise

subtle scissors

guttle

the slice

greedily firm

your need

unending

your soul concern

is my will

bending

without contrite

an untrained surgeon

wielding your knife

dealing misfortune

yet that smile

remains

confidence is

set

no turn of

phrase

will you

forget

complete control

until the end

through the keyhole

and back again

Oh my, sounds like it's almost based on personal experience.

reminds me of my ex... that's how he wanted his life. when he found someone he thought would give that to him, he left (me and the kids) only to find out she wasn't all that interested. Funny how things turn out.
