Reverberating Echo

A Poem

Reverberating Echo | A Poem | Christopher Dubbs

When you lean your head back, revealing the full bloom of your face

I wanted to dance across your cheeks

When you sipped tea to soothe your throat

I wanted to bathe along the curve of your lips

When you cried—whether in sadness or in joy

I wanted to slide down the delicate ladder of your lashes

When you lost yourself in your favorite song

I wanted to tremble in the warm hollow of your ears.

When you stood firm beneath the setting sun

I wanted to embrace your elongated shadow

When excitement made your pulse thunder

I want to sleep inside the chambers of your heart

When you cuddle up with you heart wide open

I wanted to journey slowly across the landscape of your flesh

When I heard the sound of your voice,

I wanted to kiss your reverberating echo
