The Dollar & The £
We saved our coins, we watched them climb,
But now they slip with passing time.
The pound, the dollar—once held high,
Now hover low beneath the sky.
Prices rise, the shelves look bare,
Yet wages stall in stale air.
Markets shift with every tweet,
And trading floors can’t find their feet.
The wars, the debt, the rates they tweak,
The strength we had now feels so weak.
Bankers guess and headlines spin,
While common folk just tuck their chin.
What once could buy a week of bread
Now barely feeds a mouth instead.
Still we carry, still we pay,
Hoping fortune swings our way

Seventeen-year-old Manny got off a public bus at a busy intersection in downtown Philadelphia. When the bus released its brakes and passed his narrow view, he checked whether the art museum across the street was still there. He had been visiting it every day that week but wondered for a second the veracity of its presence. Now, the spring sun betrayed its gray highlights, giving it a warm glow.

You know, AI isn't good for much, but it is good for a laugh. This approximation of George Franklin as an amalgamation of all the Founding Fathers on our US dollars made me chuckle 😁
