The Return of the Honey Suckle
Those Beautiful Spring Days
It was a beautiful sunny afternoon
The sky was a clear blue
A cool gentle breeze blowing through the trees and flowers
Making each petal and leaf dance to the quiet swoosh
It was quiet, a nice welcome change
She took the chance to enjoy nature's simple beauty.
All at once she was taken back to a time l0ng ago
She remembered by little, running around
Running through the flowers counting the different colors
Looking to the side, she saw it
A large group of honey suckle
She thought of how she would pick a handful
Tasting the sweetness on her tongue, smiling
The wonderful simplicity of life's quiet moments
As she picks the honey suckle, she closes her eyes
So much has changed since those days years ago
She thinks of her grandma working in her garden
And how she dreamed of being old enough to have her own
She thought of her grandpa cutting the grass
Feeling grown as she helps him feed the animals on their farm
She brushes away a tear as she wishes they were still here
The bitter sweet feeling knowing they would be proud of who she became
As she breathes in the fresh air, she longs to hold on to now
How anything is possible and dreams come true
And life in all it's beautiful simplicity
Where each day truly is a gift just for being
Time continues, yet there will always be the return of those quiet spring days
