We mark Martyr's Day today - for Mahatma Ghandi, and all who walked selflessly with others who needed them.
For strength that refused applause.
🕊️🌿
He stands
In the midst of -
Lifting wreaths
And muted bows
🕊️🌿
He walked
With us
In the same breath
On the same route
🕊️🌿
For life
Softened
Under watch
For the Soul
🕊️🌿
That saw.
That lauded not.
That stopped.
And evaded
The light.
🕊️🌿

Outstanding! 🫶🏾💕
I love how you made this work - the route, how he walked in front of us as example and the whole poem marching to a beat, like it's matching his steps. Brilliant!
I love how the repetition of “the same route” feels like a heartbeat, steady and honoring.
Thank you, great tribute and love that image
Beautiful work Michelle. Always make me think and feel.
