A Poem

It’s evidence

It’s proof of life

A cadence, soft

Carved with a knife

Carcass and spirit

Like day and night

Rose and thicket

Thin lined respite

The proof remains

When we are gone

Separation makes

Until there’s none

No going home

Or rewinding time

Nobody knows

How to read the signs

Only footsteps and

Fingerprints left behind

The hourglass sand

Another place in time

A flash of life

Without the spark

In lifeless eyes

Without a heart

Standing in place

Of love passed on

A lesser face

Once salvaged from

Another fate

Never to be seen

Creations are made
