Where Have These Years Gone?
If only I could turn back time just for a day ♥️♥️♥️

Where Have These Years Gone?
I closed my eyes, and there you were again,
small hands smudged with colour, laughter in the air,
paper spread across the table like little worlds,
and me, just watching, holding every second close.
Ibrahim with his tall lady robot, standing proud,
long legs stretching further than the page allowed,
careful lines, bright thoughts, a mind already dreaming,
I smiled, because I could see his heart in it.
Joshua with the windmill from the garden,
every turn of it remembered in his drawing,
granddad’s work, the quiet pride of home,
etched in pencil, simple, yet full of meaning.
Jamie with his cheeky little picture,
Peppa and George, laughter in every scribble,
round faces, wide eyes, joy spilling over,
a child’s world, untouched, warm, and full.
We had no thought of years ahead that day,
only the now, the giggles, the calling of “look nan,”
three boys, my world, my living treasure,
time sat still, or so it gently felt.
Now I open my eyes, and everything has changed,
eighteen, sixteen, fifteen, grown before I knew,
voices deeper, steps longer, lives unfolding,
and those little drawings, they whisper back to me.
God, how the years have slipped so quietly,
like pages turning when no one is watching,
but in my heart, that day still breathes,
unchanged, unbroken, forever mine.
I love those boys so much, so does grandad.♥️♥️♥️
