As written content creators, some people want to generate as many reads as possible, and others want to only generate reads that garner feedback in order to improve their writing skills. A portion of people don't care how it goes. They just do it for the fun, and the outlet, as getting the tons of creative thoughts rattling around inside their heads out is therapeutic. Which ever one you are, that leads to a question. Do you advertise your work, or not? And, if so, have you tried all the ways there are to advertise.

Sure, you can use your social media feeds as a way to advertise. There are some who use email lists. And there's the list of different platforms, from Twitter (X), all the way to Minds and Many Stories. Have you tried them all? Have you tried them on platforms like Tik Tok?

Depending on your reason for writing, and what you hope to get out of it, there may be an untried outlet to post your written content. It's subtler than using Facebook/Meta links, and it will take you a little more time than using Tumblr or Bluesky. Tik Tok is another possibility you might want to consider.

Tik Tok was expected to reach 2.14 billion users in the world by 2025. As platforms continue to grow, there is an estimated 1.69 billion monthly active users (MAUs) on Tik Tok. As much s the United States has tried to shut down Tik Tok due to its ties to the dreaded "Communist" of China, Tik Tok appears, by all accounts, here for the duration.

So, how can users of platforms like VOCAL, Medium, or Substack, for instance, tap into the 1.69 billion monthly users on Tik Tok? That is the rub, at least usually. It's always in the how.

How to Use Tik Tok To Promote Your Stories

So, let's look at how you might use Tik Tok to promote stories on Vocal, or wherever you might post your writen works, and potentially find more readers. At the very least, you will learn a new way of communicating in the online world, and you might notice a spike in views or reads of your stories, poetry, and articles. And doesn't that lead to money!

The first thing you want to do, after opening an account on Tik Tok, is figure out, is your main image something that's eye catching enough to get someone to look. Or, perhaps you need a collage of images for a story, and you might need to be creative enough to get them made by whatever AI platform you choose.

Thanks to Tik Toks AI Live, if you have an image, you can use what you have and make it live.

When you look down, below your user identification, you'll notice there's s spot that starts out with the link to my story. That story is one about how the Earth is getting it's own black box recorder. You know the one, that thing they're buiding in the middle of nowhere Australia. It's meant to keep the records of why there are no humans left on this planet, in the case of us finally pushing ourselves off the face of the big blue ball in space.

Once you have your image, and you decide whether or not to make it live, you can add music. Then, you'll go to a page where you can put a description, and that's where you drop the link to your story. I know what you're thinking, what's the chance of someone looking at that, or being that interested.

Well, the lottery is a one in a 1,000,000,000 shot, and I bet you've bought at least one lottery ticket. You certainly put out more time than it takes to buy that lottery ticket as you crafted a piece of written content.

So, when everything is chosen, from your image, to your AI, to the music, then, you do like any other posting, and you hit post. In moments, you can post it to tik tok.

And, guess, what, the same works with META AI. You can get your ideas into your story on Instagram, Facebook, and Threads, as long as your have your settings set to cross post. And now, you have a chance at getting your work in front of even more people.

Seem like a long shot still? Well, there's one more way of doing this and it may or may not be what you want to do, but you'll see the value.

Stick with an image, pick a catchy tune, and use the text tool on the right hand side of the screen (cell phone) and post our link big and proudly. This too works on Meta AI, and you can get it across all the majors by crossposting to Instagram, Threads, and Facebook or Meta. You can also use images on Twitter with music and your link more prominently displayed. It's going to take some imagination to get people to stop, look at what your sharing, and go forward, but that's your hobby or job as the content creator, to get people to stop, look, and keep going.

Wherever you put your work, it's up to you to make it as temptings as possible. That's half the job. The other half, is to get it out there in front of as many eyes as possible. And that's something you can use more than Facebook, Twitter (X), Tumblr, or Many Stories to achieve. By exploring a site like TIK TOK, you can move your works onto a platform that has over a billion and a half people awaiting, and try your odds.

Tik Tok also has a promote offering, where people can buy promotion of their creations, getting them out to even more eyes. Just imagine the possibilities!
