Finding My Voice
An update about my relationship with writing I've been struggling with deciding the type of content that I would like to pursue writing. I've been trying out a variety of topics, like subjects that from school like How to do Online School Successfully, Gender Stereotypes (from Sociology class), Choosing a Major, etc. I've also written about current events like The Gender Reveal Wildfires, details about the new Disney Princess Movie months before it was released, the time whenGen Z accidentally suggested a Nazi symbol for a matching tattoo, etc.

Disney has been making animated films for kids since Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs was released in 1938. Kids have been growing up with these films since then and have been looking up to characters in these movies as role models. By watching these types of movies during a young age when kids are easily influenced by the media, it is evident that these films have had an important part of the development of particular stereotypes.

Gender Stereotypes within the Pink is for Girls and Blue is for Boys Notion
Growing up, we are taught that pink is for girls and blue is for boys, and this idea is especially prominent with babies, proven by gender reveal parties (check out my separate article on gender reveals here). Why were these colors "assigned" genders, and is it harmful to keep emphasizing that pink has to be for girls and blue has to be for boys?

Gen Z Wanted Matching Tattoos... but the Suggestion was a Nazi Symbol
The idea for a Gen Z matching tattoo first sparked after @smoothavacado on TikTok suggested the idea. The now deleted original post said that this tattoo would be "as not only a symbol of unity in our generation, but also as a sign of rebellion" implying that great changes would be made in the future because of Gen Z. Recent Wildfire Started from a Gender Reveal Sparks Questions about Gender Reveals. Top Story - September 2020.
One of the wildfires currently going on in California was started from a pyrotechnic device used in a gender reveal party. The fire started in El Dorado Ranch Park in Yucaipa and spread north on to Yucaipa Ridge. At the time this was written, the fire had consumed 12,610 acres and the people who started the fire haven't been charged yet.
