"Beyond The Gates" Week 2 Review
I'm still in "mark-out" mode regarding the first week of Beyond the Gates. I said this a number of times before and I'll say it again: the soap opera genre needed this. Badly. Mostly because of the representation, but also because this show is not as dramatic as the average soap. As I said, the first week was stellar, absolutely epic as hell. And that first week has resulted in huge ratings for CBS in that time slot.

Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon The Super Live UK
Sailor Moon is one of those shows that always have a special place in my heart. I loved the show as a kid and also watched it as a teenager as well. I think it was so revolutionary. It was both a product of it's time and also something that stood the test of time too. My best friend Vee tagged me in a post on Facebook that was advertising the show and I got the presale ticket. It just happened to be on the same weekend I was in London for a convention in Hammersmith. I was also lucky the venue was close to both close to Camden Market (one of my favourite areas in London) and also a short tube journey to the hotel I was staying in.

A Complete Unknown, which James Mangold co-wrote and directed, has a unique ending. In contrast to other musician biopics, the Bob Dylan film mostly centers on the celebrated singer-songwriter's ascent to fame in the 1960s, which culminated in Dylan's 1965 performance at the Newport Folk Festival. A Complete Unknown received positive reviews and was nominated for multiple Oscars, including Best Picture and Best Actor. In addition to his amicable but tense relationship with Pete Seeger, Dylan's ascent as a folk star is well-established in the movie, from his first arrival in New York City in 1961 to his sold-out performances.

It is a sad ending for Anora. Reviews for Anora, which was written and directed by Sean Baker, who was praised for Rocket Man and The Florida Project, have been overwhelmingly positive. The movie has been nominated for awards since its Cannes Film Festival debut. As Anora comes to a close, Mikey Madison's title character boards a private jet to Las Vegas with the rest of the cast, including Vanya, his parents, Igor, Toros, and Garnick, in order to have her marriage dissolved. Anora objects to being made to do something she doesn't want to do, but Vanya's mother Galina threatens to punish her if she doesn't comply.
