The Dream Wood
I shot up straight and gasped for breath. I looked around and was more than a little confused by everything. I wasn't in my bed anymore, I'm in... A forest? I sat there and hoped this was a dream but once I felt the cool breeze I knew that would've been too good to be true.

N/A
Myra's inbox was cluttered with numerous emails from various employment platforms. She had not received any substantial job offers in over a month. She was becoming borderline desperate and even cynical. The elusive promise of any supplemental income from the state didn't help the situation either.

I am in his bubble, and he is in mine
"Oh, for God's sake!!" My pile of magazines go flying off the edge of the sofa, when I accidentally kick them with my foot. It's only a small annoyance, but it's one too many annoyances tonight. I reach to pick them all up, then re-position myself across the sofa, propped up with cushions, half sprawled and feeling fairly relaxed, considering.

Beneath the Skin
I can remember the feeling of loss. The pain can brighten one’s life to a point where all you can do is just smile. I can see the moment so clearly, I was about ten years of age and I could picture my mother lying in her laced bed. She whispered to my father about something grave, but it seemed as if my father had no care. Her completion was becoming pale as if she had tasted poison. Few weeks flew by and my mother grew weaker, eventually dying. We had a funeral for her the following week. We had no relatives attend the funeral, for all had died by some 'disease'. During the burying of my mother, a tear dropped down from my eye as if the world had changed meaning. Looking up at my father I had seen a faint smile upon his face. I knew from then on I had no one to count on, not ever.

Snake Fear!
SNAKE FEAR Joe was walking along the country road, the gravel making small sounds at times as he made deliberate steps. There was no other traffic on the road at this time of day and Joe was walking down the middle of the road just in case. He was feeling pretty good about himself for just being out here walking. Especially on a road that had grass and brush on both sides. He glanced over to the sides out of habit, then cajoled himself for it. Just keep walking buddy, he told himself. You are out here finally doing this, as the therapist suggested.
